HSE RIDDOR Data points to 321 injuries at work in North West
The HSE has generated a dashboard showing data visualisation of 3,050 RIDDOR records relating to construction over the period 2011 to 2017 (http://www.hse.gov.uk/construction-dashboard/).
The intention is to make the data more relevant and easily used by interested parties. The dashboard allows users to select any time range to analyse and also to focus in on specific areas.
The data shows that Monday to Wednesday are the worst days in the week for incidents to be reported, and men suffer far more injuries at work than women.
The top five most reported kinds of incident include: slips or trips, handling of materials, use of hand/power tools, falls from ladders and being struck by a falling object.
The North West had 321 RIDDOR reports over the period. Only London, the South East and Scotland had higher report counts.
