Aegis joins growing national group enevo

We’re pleased to announce that Aegis Services Ltd is now part of rapidly expanding Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) provider, enevo.

The Leeds-headquartered business has acquired Aegis as part of its planned growth strategy, further strengthening its presence in Lancashire and across the North West of England while adding further specialist health, safety and CDM capability to the group.

Established in 1995, Aegis delivers CDM (Construction Design & Management) and Principal Designer services, construction-phase health and safety support and risk management consultancy across the construction and engineering sectors. The business has worked on around 6,000 projects for more than 600 clients and has built a large team of qualified CDM Principal Designers.

The acquisition brings additional on-the-ground capability across the North West, anchored by Aegis’ established team and longstanding client relationships across the region. It also means Aegis clients will have access to a wider group of specialist-built environment services, including Building Safety Act advice, Building Regulations Principal Designer support, Higher-Risk Building guidance, Building Compliance services and Building Control expertise.

Adam Kaley, Director at Aegis Services Ltd, said: “Having built a successful business over nearly three decades, it was important to find a partner that values both our technical standards and client relationships, which are the cornerstone of the business.

“Joining enevo gives us the platform to grow further while continuing to deliver the hands-on, practical, expert support our clients rely on day-to-day. From our client’s point of view, this is business as usual. We are still Aegis and our projects will still be delivered by the same expert team, only now our clients have access to an even wider pool of technical expertise. This is increasingly important as construction, health and safety and building regulatory requirements continue to evolve.”

Mark Heptonstall, CEO and founder of enevo, added: “Bringing Aegis into the group strengthens our presence in Lancashire and adds further depth to our wider Building Safety capability.

“Aegis has an established and expert team with a strong reputation in CDM, construction health and safety, Clerk of Works and operational risk. That complements the growing enevo Building Safety Division we already have, while widening our service offering and increasing capacity across the group.

“For clients, this will mean continuity from the Aegis team they know, with access to broader technical support as their projects and regulatory duties become more complex.”

The deal follows enevo’s expansion of its Santander UK funding facility, quadrupling its multi-million-pound revolving credit arrangement to accelerate its buy-and-build strategy across the UK built environment sector. The acquisitions reflect enevo’s ambition to become one of the UK’s largest privately-owned built environment consultancies by 2027, building out a genuinely integrated, technically-led platform of specialist services.
