The Equality Act 2010 requires employers and organisations like shops, local authorities and schools to take positive steps to remove the barriers faced by those with disabilities.  The Act calls this the duty to make reasonable adjustments.

When a company or service provider is considering making reasonable adjustments, conducting access audits on premises constitutes good practice and may be helpful in avoiding acts of discrimination.
