Aegis gains Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation

At Aegis, we understand that data is often a company’s most valuable asset, which is why we are delighted to share that we have gained a Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, further strengthening our commitment to providing our clients with the highest levels of service.

Following an in-depth technical audit, it was determined that we have demonstrated best practise in IT infrastructure security – giving our clients confidence that their data is protected against a cyber security breach.

Cyber Essentials Plus is a UK Government standard that helps organisations improve their level of IT infrastructure security and guard them from cyber-attacks.

It is designed to help prevent highly common internet-based attacks and to implement the right controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of stored data on devices.

There are many variations of cyber-attacks, but the majority are very basic and carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They’re the digital equivalent of someone trying your car door to see if it’s unlocked.

In 2019, it was reported that around one third of businesses had a cyber security breach and for some, it resulted in substantial costs.

With 32% of UK businesses facing cyber threats in 2023, this certification demonstrates the importance of consistently reviewing security measures.

It’s required that an organisation complete the Cyber Essentials Plus audit within three months of the last Cyber Essentials basic certificate – which we completed last August.
