Aegis was originally formed in 1995 specifically to provide services required by the introduction of the Construction (Design & Management) (CDM) Regulations in 1994.
CDM Co-ordination still represents a significant part of the company's business, however the range of health, safety, environmental and risk management services provided by Aegis has gradually expanded and Aegis is now a major consultancy operating throughout the UK. This was recognised in 2010 when Aegis was runner up in the CDM Co-ordinator of the Year category of the UK Builder and Engineer Awards.
Aegis is a Corporate Member of:
• the Association for Project Safety (APS)
• Northwest Aerospace Alliance
• the North West Construction Safety Group
• the CDM Duty Holders Support Group North West Initiative
Aegis has had representation on national and regional technical bodies and has influenced current and future health and safety legislation. Individual staff are authorities on health and safety matters and are regular presenters at seminars.
Environmental issues are an increasing concern for most companies and organisations. Aegis provides environmental advice and assessments, is registered with the BRE and undertakes Code of Sustainable Homes and BREEAM assessments.
