Case Study - CDM Co-ordination

James Hall & Co Distribution Centre, Preston

Aegis was appointed to the CDM Co-ordinator role on the new warehouse and office facility for James Hall & Co
on the outskirts of Preston. The facility is the central distribution centre for 450 Spar shops in the North
of England and cost over £40 million to construct.

The facility, which started operation in March 2011, is split into warehouse and office areas with a combined
floor area of 400,000 sq ft. The warehouse contains both temperature-controlled and ambient storage areas,
food production areas, as well as loading and unloading bay areas. The offices are on the first floor above the
loading bays. The impressive main reception area has been built with a water feature passing through it.
