Aegis were selected, through a competitive tender process, to provide CDM Co-ordination services for the Design and Build of the new Science Technology Engineering, Mathematics and Music (STEMM) Building at Blackburn College. The project ran from September 2012 to August 2013 and had a construction cost of circa £5 million.
The Sir Bill Taylor Futures Building, as it will be known, provides 3,500m2 of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and workshops focusing on mechanical and electrical engineering, maths, science, renewable energy technologies, nuclear power and gas training. The new centre is also the new purpose-built home for the College’s Music and Media faculty, which will include TV and radio studios, editing suites, recording studio, and rehearsal rooms.
Aegis were subsequently appointed to act as CDM Co-ordinator for both the Regional Automotive Technology Hub (RATH) Facility and new Sports Facility at Blackburn College.
